I can’t believe June is here already. That means that 2009 is half gone and that we are into the busy season here at Meramec Valley. We have had activity in members selling 3 EA sites so far. We have had 12 members come back and we have sold 1 new membership already on Memorial Day weekend. This is good news for Meramec Valley. Members have had great things to say about the changes and improvements in the park. The word is out that we are moving in the right direction again. Float trips will once again be offered at Meramec Valley. Check with the office to find out when reservations will be available. We are shooting for the 2nd week of June. We are also looking into offering tickets and shuttle service to the Music Theater in Steelville and possibly winery tour trips. Watch the website and bulletin boards for updates.

With the busy season we are also seeing a few members test the new Manager the new Board of Directors and our commitment to enforcing the rules.  The thing everyone must remember is that we have 102 acres of park to cover with all new staff. It is impossible for a staff person or Board Member to be everywhere and see everything. If anyone sees a violation please report it to the Office, the Park Manager or any Board Member. I promise you it will be dealt with as soon as possible. Issues regarding the safety of our members and guests will take priority.

The most broken rules are:

        1)       Glass in the pool area. There are no glass containers of any kind allowed in the pool area.

2)      Riding on the tailgate or bed rails, trunk deck etc.

3)      Using profanity or making lewd remarks. Anyone using profanity or making lewd remarks will be removed from the park immediately.

4)   Drinking in excess. Anyone who becomes a public nuisance do to being in a drunken state will be dealt with by local law enforcement. We must all remember that we are all here to have fun but if your type of fun ruins the fun for other members it will not be tolerated.

I am sure it is going to be a GREAT season at Meramec Valley for 3 reasons. 1) We have the best park in Missouri.  2) We have the best staff.  3) We have the greatest Members

Deter Matlock, President

Meramec Valley Board of Directors

Billy Hulett has been hired as our new Park Manager. Billy hit the ground running on March 9, 2009 and we are sure he is going to prove to be a great asset to the park. We should all give him any support and or help needed to help him at this busy time of year. His first week is just begining and he has already hired the groundskeepers, a reservation person and has made some positive changes in the office operation.
